Master Chef Finalist - Emma Spitzer

Thanks to the great company Grub Club - https://grubclub.com - that inform us of all the exciting Supperclubs and Pop-ups happening around London. We got the chance to spot that Master Chef Finalist - Emma Sptizer was holding a few evenings throughout the late Summer and Autumn, cooking at her lovely home in North London. After bringing out her latest cook book and appearing on TV programmes such as Sunday Brunch, we thought this was an excellent chance to try out her Middle Eastern cuisine.

Her menu was very interesting and creative, with combination of flavours that we have never experienced before.

The Menu:

Turkish Bread

Labneh and Z'aatar

Stir Fried Aubergine

Roast Cauliflower
Lebanese spiced Humous, Pecan, Lemon and Chilli Dressing

Charred baby Leak, Almonds, Date Syrup

Smoked Trout, Grapefruit, Advodado, Lime and Ginger Dressing

Baharat Chicken with Sephardi Rice and Lentils

Garlic and Chilli Beans

Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate Fondant

Emma cooked for around 20 people and with so many courses this is not an easy task! The dishes that really stood out for us was the Roasted Cauliflower, which has now become the most trendy dish around London and is very tasty. Our favourite was the Charred baby Leaks with Almonds and Date Syrup which really is a great syrup that can be added to lots of dishes to give them an interesting and sweet flavour. And Emma's Sephardi Rice and Lentils was delicious. And of course the chocolate fondant!

As a whole evening it was really great fun, with great food and Emma joins us at the end to 'spill the beans' on the Master Chef competition. Our only grouch was it was a little noisy so a few rugs on the floor would help dampen the acoustics and the evening would be absolutely perfect.

We think Emma is holding one Supperclub each month for the next couple of months but check out Grub Club's website as the seats are selling out fast.
