Recently gained its first Michelin star we decided to check out this seafood restaurant. Set within the South Place Hotel on the top floor (7th) is the Angler restaurant. Very bright, white and mirrored is this very contemporary, beautifully designed space. Complete with spacious roof terrace.
We were lucky enough to have the table over looking their pristine kitchens, with the very hard working team of chefs provide superb dishes.
We had the Taste of Summer Menu - although we were able to swap some dishes on the A La Carte menu
Glass of Champagne and snacks
Isle of Wight tomato - jelly, curd, basil
Ajo blanco - aw red prawns, Zerbinanti melon, fig leaf oil
Goosnargh Chicken - line caught squid, English peas, girolles
Strawberry Pavlova - Gariguette Strawberry, Rose Jersey Cream
This is a beautiful, stunning contemporary restaurant serving wonderful seafood. We can see why it was awarded its deserved Michelin star. It is a very nice space to visit, and we highly recommend it.
The hotel itself also has a very nice bar area on the ground floor and a South Place Chop House restaurant, on the ground floor, which is reportedly good.
