TOMS KITCHEN IN CHELSEA

Well we have just had a very impressive meal. We took up a Bookatable offer for 3 courses and a glass of Prosecco and tea or coffee for £25. None of our 8 guests had tried any of Tom Aikens restaurants before but we all agreed we would definitely go back again.

We were all given a glass of Prosecco as we sat down.

For Starters we had a choice of:

Celeriac Soup - caramelised celeriac, croutons

Pork Terrine – bacon, sourdough, cox apple chutney

Winter Beetroot & Pine Nut Salad – ricotta cheese, dried herbs

For Mains we had a choice of:

Grilled Fillets of Cornish Plaice, leeks, olive oil creamed potatoes, crayfish dressing

Minute Steak – fries, watercress, bearnaise sauce

Macaroni – butternut squash, spinach, candied seeds

For Dessert we had a choice of:

Chocolate & Peanut butter fondant – vanilla ice cream

Sticky Toffee Pudding – date ice cream

Winter Berry Posset – shortbread

Americano or Breakfast Tea

Plus we ordered a few extra dishes from the a la carte menu

The Cod Loin

The Mallard Duck

The steak tartare.

All dishes, agreed by all our guests, were excellent. The Chocolate and peanut butter Fondant was described as the best fondant they had ever had.

The restaurant is a brasserie style with a rustic farmhouse feel, and very long wooden bench style tables and seats and an open kitchen at the back of the restaurant.

For the quality of food we had and for the unbelievable price we paid of £25. We think this is one of the best deals we have been on. And all of us will go back and order food from the a la carte menu.

The tiniest of tiny criticism is that the sticky toffee pudding was good but not one one the best ones we have had.

We give this restaurant for quality and value a very strong 8/10 and recommend you to definitely take up this offer.
